Happy New 2008

Jeeze Louise. 2008. I'm incredibly grateful for what I have--an adoring and adorable husband, a fantastic and amazing son, a home I love in a city I love, great friends and work I love. And health! Great health! But I am making a few resolutions.

1. Give negativity the boot. I know it sounds new agey, but seeing the glass as overflowing is a lot more fun than seeing it cracked and empty. Oh, and this goes for shame, too.
2. Be grateful. I already bought thank-you notes and I know how to use them.
3. Be loving and adventurous and bold. Shy no longer exists if I can help it.
4. Stop knitting every sweater in the round and learn how to put the pieces together so it looks professional. (If anyone can offer advise, PLEASE DO.)
5. Write as if my life depended on it. It does.

For everyone who has read or commented here, my thanks are huge and my gratitude the size of China.

Caroline, I love your resolutions. They are great ones. I could relate to every single one except the knitting one. I couldn't knit to save my life.

Caroline,
Wonderful resolutions, especially the one about writing as if your life depended on it because it does.

May this year bring you riches, internal and out, that you so deserve/

Cheers into 2008

As someone who used to knit a huge amount but lapsed recently, once you have the back of your chosen sweater whatever done, the rest is pretty easy as you use this to measure everything else against. As each section is finished and cast off, press well with damp cloth. Sew edges together, wrong side out so that when you turn it the right way round, the sewing is concealed. You will then need to pick up again in the round to finish/add the collar et al.

Mark you I think you would probably best to ask DoveGreyReader as her knitting skills are second to none!

Have just found your blog so will be reading and visiting again. Happy New Year.

By sheer chance I clicked on my name Elaine and seem to be linked to somebody else's blog which I have just corrected. Not quite sure how that happened. My own blog is

Hi Elaine, I'm so glad you found your way to my blog! I just scooted over to yours and left a detailed comment which doesn't seem to be showing up...alas. I will definitely visit and try again, though!
