And another friend of mine just had an experience where the small press that was publishing his book folded literally DAYS before his book was supposed to come out.
Ridiculous.
Guess I better make (even better) peace with the possibility of never being published.

Oh my God. That is horrible. What press was this? I hope your friend has an agent who can help sell it elsewhere. I have never seen things so dark.

Caroline, it was Black Arrow Press, I believe. Yeah, I hope he can sell it elsewhere, too. He's a great writer. Dark times indeed.
I just heard that St. Martin's my old publisher is nto giving anyone raises and they haven't decided on job cuts.
