Thank you so much for sharing your story. The bad relationship "dynamics" you describe are very familiar. Mostly, as a fellow "odd" one, it's great to hear that I'm not alone. And, I love herps (reptiles). They might not be cuddly like most mammals, but they're far more capable of love and bonding than measured/predicted/rumored.
