Ok, we have three gorgeous blue swatches in the bedroom, I chose for my office, Max's room is this buttery yellow and Jeff's office is beachy. But this second tiny bathroom is making me crazy. It's got an old fashioned pedestal sink with cool handles, a gorgeous wood framed medicine chest, and the tiles are sort of peach, the stuff with the three paint samples is textured--sort of wainscotting. We can't change those tiles, but the pink has got to go. Any suggestions? Obviously the three samples painted on are not working.
This may sound drab but I love brown. It's simplicity and lack of loud color helps all the other nice colors, (especially peach) stand out more. It's great background and there are all different kinds and variations of brown. but often a simple brown will bring out all the other sleeping colors and make them really radiate. Sometimes what we don't think as beautiful is, because of its simplicity and generous nature very beautiful. Brown is generous to other colors. It steps aside and lets the other shine.
ReplyDeleteBut, heavens, don't go by me because I'm a real idiot when it comes to all this.
Leora, you wrote this lovely poetic post and then you said you were a real idiot! I laughed out loud. I think we may go with some sort sandy shade now. I love that phrase, brown is generous to other colors....
ReplyDeleteOh, I love a "sandy shade"--that sounds just right. Sort of brown but your way.
ReplyDeleteHow about a light, cool green or turquoise? I love green and turq and think they might work with the pink. But oh try it first! I'd hate to be responsible if you felt stuck in an after-dinner mint!
