Thanks, Caroline, another gem!Carol Starr Schneiderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05724433226951301598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4396875931357506685.post-88636119386142010732010-04-06T07:14:43.366-07:002010-04-06T07:14:43.366-07:00I remember my first time reading Operating Instruc...I remember my first time reading Operating Instructions in my bed at dawn with a newborn who wouldn't stop crying. I was so tired I couldn't sleep and I curled around my baby, she and I equally distressed, and picked up Anne Lamott's book from my bedside pile. I had long been a fan - having ferreted out and devoured all of her previous work -- but I never anticipated what a lifeline Operating Instructions would be.
With her subsequent books on faith Anne Lamott has even further been a writer I seek out first when I need the truth in a no holds barred kind of way. You are so right Caroline, when you say Anne Lamott deserves her own day-- she is a treasure and I cannot wait to read this book.Robin Antalekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07364290062604757682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4396875931357506685.post-2460074349861920582010-04-06T07:03:38.530-07:002010-04-06T07:03:38.530-07:00Anne,
You get right to the heart of the matter.
...Anne,
You get right to the heart of the matter.

I loved what you said about parents fearing not being cool. Parents matter, and setting limits to risky behaviors is demanding and comes with its own risks.

We have so much to learn in our society. Too much going on for many of us to manage well.

As always, great interview, Caroline.

JessicaJessica Brilliant Keenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05292649334006427891noreply@blogger.com
